YUKON WOMEN IN MUSIC - (YWIM) is a non-profit organization for women musicians in the Yukon


Yukon Women in Music (YWIM) is a volunteer run organization that meets regularly to organize concerts, workshops and fund raising events, as well as to provide networking opportunities for women in Whitehorse  and Yukon communities.

YWIM provides resources for women musicians in Yukon including:

• workshops
• songwriting circles
• performance opportunities
• mentorship opportunities

YWIM hosts Canada 150 Tatshenshini River event!

Yukon Women in Music is partnering with Canadian Heritage Rivers to honour the Tatshenshini River - this weekend - August 12, at Million Dollar Falls.  Family-friendly event includes First Nation dancing, storytelling, artisan demonstrations, crafting activities from 1 - 5 followed by Cook Shack Concert at 7:30pm.

The next Yukon Women in Music (YWIM) Cook Shack Session is just days away. Discover the beautiful Lapie Canyon Campground, just past Faro and near Ross River, and enjoy musicians Kim Beggs, Susan Arenburg, Ally Easton and Lindy Jo Aston, and artist-in-residence, carver Angel Hall. Greetings YWIM! 

The 2017 Keno City Music and Art Workshop for adults is now open for registrations. 
In partnership with Yukon Women in Music and Keno Club, eight professional Yukon artists will spend two weeks in Keno City creating new works as part of their Artist-in-Residency. All Artists in Residence (AiR) will be in Keno for both weeks.

Guitar Maintenance And Set Up Workshop with Erica Heyligers December 3rd, 2016 from 2:00-5:00 pm Description: Students come with their own guitar and learn hands on how to care and properly set up their instrument. They learn about all the parts of the guitar, what their functions are, about intonation, fret wear and how to trouble shoot problems like buzzing. This year, we are looking for 3 new board members. If you would like to be involved with the board, please join us or let us know beforehand. We need some new energy and ideas to carry us through the next few years. The commitment would be no more than a meeting a month, and committee meetings for our events. Your help means we can continue to offer the same great services and performance opportunities to the women, and young women of the Yukon. We hope to see you there.
